Are you a small California employer that would like to offer a group medical plan but can’t meet the minimum contribution and or participation requirements?
The Small Group Special Enrollment Period (SEP) begins November 15th and ends December 15, 2017. Coverage for all SEP groups will be effective January 1, 2018. Within this limited period, carriers may not decline a small group (1-100 Full Time Equivalent Employees) for failure to meet contribution and/or participation requirements.
It is important to remember that each SEP group must still meet all other requirements imposed by the carrier. It is only contribution and participation requirements that are waived for the SEP.
